Pineapple Turmeric Green Smoothie
A smooth pineapple start with a sweet banana finish and the knowledge of healthy choices in your day, the Pineapple Turmeric Smoothie is packed full of variety, health and tasty goodness.
When faced with eating restrictions, it is easy to rely on the five meals that you can have and you enjoy and just keep cycling through them. While this solves the ‘what do I eat’ question it doesn’t give you optimum health. Smoothies are a perfect healthy choice to solve all these challenges. Smoothies allow for hiding all sorts of health foods inside, the blender does half the digesting action for you and your body just gets to suck up all the nutrients. Pineapple Turmeric Green Smoothie is exactly that kind of smoothie, we hid 1 tsp of turmeric, you could likely add more, in this smoothie and you could barely tell it was in it.
Smoothies also allow for variety, the next big solution for optimum health. Recycling the same meals over and over doesn’t give your body the variety it needs. One of the best things we can do for ourselves is eat a wide variety of things each day and each week. The more sources of nutrients our bodies have the better it is for us. That is a rule you can plan your meals and diet around. Which makes smoothies a perfect choice; you can blend up so many different ingredients and still have an awesome tasting smoothie. Looking for more smoothie recipes, try the Super Green Morning Smoothie. It’s based on mango and ginger juice. Smoothies are an anytime of day you want them food, I use mine as meal replacements and I make mine big and delicious!
Our Pineapple Turmeric Green Smoothie is based on pineapple and coconut milk, we added banana and flax meal for that thick smoothie texture. We hid inside it turmeric, super green powder, vegan protein powder and aqua/sea greens. The sea greens I use has 9 different sea algeas, inside. The greens powder is 7 different varieties of dark green grasses and vegetables. I always choose unsweetened and try to pack as much baby greens into my smoothie as possible. Spinach is my go to, I also like baby chard, but not too much, kales and chards can make a smoothie bitter sometimes and this beverage should be a joy, not a job.
A smart smoothie trick we use in our house is to make them the night before and leave it upside down in the fridge overnight. Upside down keeps the smoothie from suctioning to the bottom of the cup. It makes breakfast smoothie that much easier. Eating your smoothie within 30 minutes of blending it is ideal for your body to get as many nutrients out of it as possible.
