NO COOK OATMEAL – 3 WAYS

Not a breakfast person? No cook oatmeal is a perfect make it ahead solution. Prepare this the night before and leave it in the fridge overnight. This versatile gem is a hero on hurried mornings, days when you need to take a meal with you, or you just want that comforting oat breakfast. No cooking required!

You can flavour this any way you like, adding warm savoury flavours like ginger or dark chocolate, coconut and caramel  or sweeten it up with maple syrup blueberries and cinnamon. These are just three of the various things you could enjoy this breakfast as. Swap out flax meal for chia seeds (we prefer white chia, since they are less conspicuous when they get stuck in your teeth) or add triple berries and it’s a whole new meal.

With a list of milks, grains, sweeteners, fresh and dried fruits and spices on hand you could mix and match ingredients for weeks and never get bored! I encourage you to try it. Tag us with your creation and let us know how it went.

make ahead oatmeal

We’ve made this recipe with both rolled oats and quick; quick oats are shown in the video but both turn out perfectly. It’s your choice for texture. All dairy free milks have different properties that people love, we’ve made this with almond milk. hemp milk, oat milk, chocolate oat milk, before and they’ve all worked. We’ve used raisins, craisins, pumpkin seeds, frozen blueberries, strawberries, mango, peanuts, vegan nutella I could go on……you get it, it’s super versatile.

If you pop this in the oven on warm for 30 minutes or microwave for 15 seconds and stir before you serve it, it comes back to life like the hearty favourite you love!
